Bob and Barb Bartz began their service with FEBC as missionaries in 1989 when the family moved to the Philippines. During their 17 years of ministry from this base of operation, Bob filled a variety of engineering and management roles in the organization. In 2007, Bob was called to a ministry development role in Africa, working to grow effective media projects that would impact communities and introduce people to Jesus across southern and eastern Africa with Feba Radio and TWR-Africa.
After 25 years, the adventure continues. Bob has recently been appointed to join the International Service Team of FEBC, a group of missionaries consulting and serving the network of FEBC ministries throughout Asia and beyond. Bob’s new role will be leading the Project Team. He will be assisting ministries as they develop projects to strengthen their media capacity. He will also be working with project teams in the various countries to equip them to manage their projects efficiently. Bob and Barb plan to relocate to Jakarta, Indonesia in early 2015 where they will join the rest of the team at FEBC’s operation in Indonesia.
Barb has also been asked to join the International Service Team of FEBC serving part-time in an administration role. She will also be exploring opportunities for ministry with women once they are settled in Jakarta.
Their son, Nathan, is currently working in North Dakota with the HeadStart program as an assistant teacher.
Emily and her husband, Alex, have transferred to Texas where they are both pursuing doctoral degrees at Texas A&M University. Emily is pursuing her degree in English while Alex is studying electrical engineering.
Bob enjoys investing his time in the worship of God as a musician and songwriter. He continues to lead worship in various locations and share his own songs which seek to move audiences into a deeper relationship with God. He’s recently released his third album “Mountain Calling” which is available on a variety of digital music platforms. He is also encouraging, training, and discipling other musicians to use their talents for leading others to God.
Barb remains active in Bible studies and encouraging other women to grow in their understanding of God’s word. She enjoys reading and playing tennis. Barb and Bob enjoy exploring the outdoors wherever they may be located.
